Federalwide Assurance:

�ۿ۴�ý University has a Federalwide Assurance (FWA) with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for the protection of human research subjects. Through the terms of the FWA, �ۿ۴�ý University commits to DHHS that it will comply with the requirements found in the DHHS Protection of Human Subjects regulations at .

The FWA covers all non-exempt human subjects research submitted at �ۿ۴�ý that is conducted or supported by DHHS, or funded by any other federal agency. However, �ۿ۴�ý voluntarily extends its FWA to cover all human subject research, regardless of the source of funding, including human subject research conducted by �ۿ۴�ý students.

�ۿ۴�ý University will also extend its FWA to cover human subject research conducted by external research partners with whom �ۿ۴�ý has established an agreement. Contact the IRB Office (250 SIH, irb@jcu.edu) for more information about research partnerships and reliance agreements.
