¿Û¿Û´«Ã½'s Computer Science and Data Science programs prepare students for their future careers.

A key component of career preparation efforts is a senior capstone project. Faculty help guide students through their efforts combining the knowledge and skills gained through courses and other experiences.

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Faculty frequently find companies to sponsor a capstone project, which offers students hands-on experience with real-world challenges that they will see in their careers and leverage this relevant experience in their job search.

This year's capstone projects included:

Computer Science

  • helping decrease food waste on campus by creating the "Streaks Eat" mobile application at the request of ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion
  • supporting local arts by creating an Inventory Management System for the Aurora Community Theatre
  • using artificial intelligence to build a brain-controlled drone, a self-driving car, and a virtual/augmented reality game under sponsorship of ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½'s AI Lab

Data Science

  • helping support K-12 students by analyzing factors that can predict Student Success in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District
  • analyzing the predictive power of infrastructure investments across wards in the City of Cleveland
  • financial risk analysis using aspects of Property Tax Payment Plans in Cuyahoga County
